Designed by a tiger sailor in the Santa Cruz fleet in the mid 2000s then perfected by Jeremy at the now closed surf city sailing late 2000s . salt city sailing has taken over production of these sweet tiller step bearings that allow a tight tiller connecter bolt while allowing the u yoke to spin without binding
works great on any model hobie or nacra that uses a hobie tiller yoke
That allows the bolt to be tightened all the way without worrying about pinching the yoke against the xbar. With this setup the yoke rides on a bushing rather than a washer, the bolthead, or the crossbar itself. The stock yoke is machined to accept the stainless bearing while using the stock bolt.
The bushing is a hair thicker than the yoke, therefore allowing the yoke to rotate independently of the bolt.
sold complete as a kit ready to install
includes new tiller connecter assembly drilled to accommodate the stainless bearing and the stainless step bearing
